IMS Completes the Type 2 SSAE 16 (SOC 1) Examination

Corvallis, OR, April 2, 2015 /PRNewswire/ — Information Management Solutions, Inc. (IMS) has successfully completed a Type 2 SSAE 16, or SOC 1, examination performed by an independent CPA firm. The examination review covered a six month period from October 1, 2014, to March 31, 2015, for its Backup and Recovery Services. This is the fourth year IMS has completed an SSAE 16 examination, which superseded the SAS 70 audit standard in mid-2011. IMS is committed to performing the examination in future years.

SSAE No. 16, Reporting on Controls at a Service Organization (AICPA, Professional Standards, AT sec. 801) is an attestation standard that establishes the requirements and guidance for reporting on controls at a service organization relevant to user entities’ internal control over financial reporting. Byron Johnson, the Director of Credit Union Operations stated, “These consistent audits reaffirm the IMS commitment to high standards for security and controls.”

The examination was performed by BrightLine CPAs & Associates, Inc., a leading provider of attestation and compliance services. Renowned for being the only company in the world that is a CPA firm, an ISO Certification Body, PCI Qualified Security Assessor, and a FedRAMP 3PAO, BrightLine’s services allow clients to achieve multiple compliance objectives using a single third party assessor.
